Reynella Kosciuszko Rides

Reynella Kosciuszko RidesCommercial horse treks through Australia's Snowy Mountains date back to the 1940's. At this time, two enterprising young mountain men, Vincent Russell and Harold Mansfield, guided adventurers through undoubtedly some of Australia's most picturesque, innspiring and challenging country. Amongst these pioneering adventurers was John Rudd, first introduced to the mountains by his Uncle Vincent Russell on a guded trek from Kiandra to Mt. Kosciuszko.

For John, this led to a lifetime affiliation with the High Country and he has continued the tradition with his wife Roslyn, guiding adventurers through the Kosciuszko National Park on horseback.

As Reynella Kosciusko Rides heads towards 35 years of trekking, it is the Rudd's special understanding of the area coupled with their experience that has established Reynella as leaders in this unique style of holiday.

On a Reynella Horseback Safari you day begins around a campfire enjoying a hearty breakfast. Then saddle up and explore the terrain on a willing horse carefully chosen to suit your ability, whether a newcomer to the saddle or an experienced rider. With over 50 horses in the stable, John Rudd has a horse for everyone.

At the end of a challenging day the hypnotic spell of the campfire and the aroma of another wonderful bush meal will draw you together to share stories of the day.

A trip with Reynella is truly hassle free, with riding and camping gear supplied, including roomy tents, mattresses, hard hats and all meals. Your gear will be transferred to the camp in our vehicle and sleeping bags and oilskin coats are available for hire.

Running from October through to May there are a variety of rides to suit your timetable and budget as well as special trips throughout the season.
