Berridale - Boulder Country!

Shady park in berridaleA feature of Berridale, the crossroads of the Snowy Mountains, is the historic row of poplars running the length of its main street. It caters for skiers in winter and is a popular summer base, being close to Lake Jindabyne and Lake Eucumbene and the magnificent landscapes of the Monaro Region.

Surrounding the township, and a cause of much interest, are the unusual granite boulders unique to this region. Crystallised as a large mass from magma many kilometres below the surface, the granite formed around 400 million years ago. Over time the granite was eroded and uplifted to become exposed at the surface for us to see today.

Visit the local Berridale Chamber of Commerce website for more information.
