Camping and picnics

Picnic in the MountainsThe Snowy Mountains are blessed with magnificent campsites and picnic areas. National Parks and State Forest provide excellent facilities designed to make your visit a pleasure.  A popular picnic spot is the top of Mount Kosciuszko!

Camping is not allowed in certain places, such as the catchment area of the lakes on the Main Range. At certain sites a permit or park entry fee may be required. It's best to check with the staff at the National Parks and Wildlife Service visitor centre in Jindabyne prior to setting out for the best picnic and camping spots in the national park.

Call or visit a local visitor information centre for maps and further information.
