From Sydney
Total driving time: approximately five hours.
- Head towards Canberra on the Hume Highway then the Federal Highway. Passing through Bredbo, and onto Cooma which is just an hour south of Canberra on the Monaro Highway.
- Jindabyne is 45 minutes' easy drive from Cooma through scenic countryside on the Kosciuszko Road.
- A further 20 minutes from Jindabyne will take you on to Thredbo (on the Alpine Way) and 25 minutes to Perisher Valley (on the Kosciuszko Road).
- Tumut and Tumbarumba are a 2 1/2 hour drive away from Cooma - travel the Snowy Mountains Highway north-west from Cooma.
- Other main towns in the region, including Bombala, Dalgety and Adaminaby are each within an hour's drive from Cooma.
