Murray 1 Visitor Centre Khancoban
The Murray 1 Visitor Centre, adjacent to Murray 1 Power Station on the Alpine Way near Khancoban is open to visitors. Murray 1 Power Station is the second largest power station in the Snowy Mountains Scheme with 10 turbines, each capable of producing enough electricity to supply more than 95,000 houses. Offering and exciting and interactive experience, the centre features hands on displays and exhibits. Power station inspections 11am and 2pm daily, except Saturdays and Sundays in winter. Light refreshments are available in the café and visitors are welcome to use the BBQ and picnic areas by the water.
Boggy Creek Shows
Be emersed in Snowy Mountains life style. Experience nine unique show segments of outstanding entertainment. Presented by 30 differerent cast members in an amphitheatre setting that looks right into the heart of the mountains. Gain knowledge past down for generations, and see the essence of snowy mountain cattlemen culture.
Gaden Trout Hatchery
Come and see how premier sport fish are bred and raised at Gaden Trout Hatchery.
Guided tours of the hatchery are available at 10 am and 2 pm daily. Visitors can view the aquariums with the four species of fish produced at Gaden: Atlantic Salmon, brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout, read the exhibits, watch a 10 minute video outlining the hatchery's purpose then go for a walk around the grounds with experienced hatchery staff and partake in feeding the big fish that come to the surface in some of the brood stock ponds.
Gaden Trout Hatchery has over 1 hectare of parkland on the picturesque banks of the Thredbo River. Coin operated barbeques and picnic shelters are available.

Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre
The Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre in Cooma is a state of the art visitor facility show casing the amazing story of the Snowy Mountains Scheme right through from the early construction days to the role the Scheme plays today in supplying vital electricity for south-eastern Australia and managing water releases for inland irrigation areas. The centre houses an exhibition hall that includes photographic collection, models, exhibits and interactive displays. A series of films are available for viewing and there is a coffee shop. A series of educational programs and resource tools are available for school visits. Open 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday and 9am - 2pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.
Adaminaby Snowy Scheme Museum
The Snowy Scheme Museum is a multi-dimensional insight on the nation of the construction of the Snowy Hydro-electric Scheme, by highlighting the achievements of the engineers, the workers, the machinery and the role the project played in the development of the modern Australian nation. The Snowy Scheme is widely considered to be the greatest engineering project ever undertaken in Australia. Open Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3pm
Pioneer Women’s Hut Musuem
The Pioneer Women’s Hut Museum is small national museum representing rural women and their families. It is run by community volunteers. The collection reflects everyday domestic life and is cleverly themed. It highlights the ingenuity of women in finding solutions to the challenges of looking after a family in early ruralAustralia. The Museum looks for objects with a clear provenance: the stories behind the diverse collection make this one of the most innovative small museums inAustralia. Open Wednesdays 11am - 4pm. Weekends and public holidays 10am - 4pm and every day for pre booked groups.
