Come and see how premier sport fish are bred and raised at Gaden Trout Hatchery.
Guided tours of the hatchery are available at 10 am and 2 pm daily. Visitors can view the aquariums with the four species of fish produced at Gaden: Atlantic Salmon, brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout, read the exhibits, watch a 10 minute video outlining the hatchery’s purpose then go for a walk around the grounds with experienced hatchery staff and partake in feeding the big fish that come to the surface in some of the brood stock ponds.
Gaden Trout Hatchery has over 1 hectare of parkland on the picturesque banks of the Thredbo River. Coin operated barbeques and picnic shelters are available.
