The Murray 1 Visitor Centre, adjacent to Murray 1 Power Station on the Alpine Way near Khancoban is open to visitors. Murray 1 Power Station is the second largest power station in the Snowy Mountains Scheme with 10 turbines, each capable of producing enough electricity to supply more than 95,000 houses. Offering and exciting and interactive experience, the centre features hands on displays and exhibits.
Power station inspections 11am and 2pm daily, except Saturdays and Sundays in winter. Light refreshments are available in the café and visitors are welcome to use the BBQ and picnic areas by the water.
